It should show for any phone number that was entered as Cell. Can you please double check this?

I can add the name to the "thumbnails view". Have you tried the applet? It will allow you to select up to 75 of your contacts - should help some.

For the applet? The application has the option...

Concerning the virtual keyboard, can you make it behave like the original N900 keyboard in a sense that you can search the person by typing the name rather than pressing the beginging later repeatedly? For example: with the current setting, if you are looking for say Smith, you cannot type S M I T H. You can only search it by pressing S and hope that it is the only person in your contact whose name start with S.

Please make sure you have the latest version first by refreshing the application manager.
I installed the program this morning and I already tried to reinstall again; it is definitely the latest version in the repository.
I have the cpu monitoring widget on at its max during the loading of the contacts, then suddenly goes to a low level after the crash.
Tried to start the program from command line:
- mycontacts.sh gives me this message: method return sender=:1270 -> dest=:1268 reply_serial=2 boolean false
- /opt/.../mycontacts gives a simpler segfault

Hope this helps debugging because the program is very interesting and I'd like to try it!

PS: a little edit; the numbers in the message change every time I start mycontacts.sh from console, but the difference is always the same (2)

no doubt this is going in the right direction !
I can confirm "a" on the list.

You actually can type S M I T H but there is a timing issue - it is not as easy as it should.
I have already added to my list some kind of search box.

But are they Cell phones? The application will only show the button for phones that are "Cell"... By the way is the same behavior that you have with the stock contacts application if you enable "Display SMS only for Cell numbers".

Can any of you please double check that this is or not the case (the phones that don't show the sms button are not cell)?

i rechecked 'a' and yes, some of my phone numbers doesnt have sms option.
about portrait i meant the applet, there are some rotate daemons around, it might be possible.
I find all my facebook contacts irelevant in this app, is there a way to filter my "facebook only" contacts out?

I am sorry to ask again but: Can you confirm that for all the phone numbers that you created as "Cell" you have the option to send SMS and that for any that you don't have they are anything but "Cell" ?

On the facebook issue: I think it probably could make sense to have a view just for "phones". I would also like to maybe use the facebook information to maybe connect to facebrik or go to the facebook web page for the contact.... I don't know... I am not a big facebook user so don't know what would make sense... any ideas?

it seems the applet recognize some mobile phone numbers as home phone number, hence why there is no SMS option, this is even though those numbers are fine in the phone's original app.

EDIT: i dont need my facebook contacts there, i use facebrick or conversations widged for that. I prefer them filtered.
