He is correct you know. The N9 and N8 is coming. The N8 will be the phone that the N900 never was intended to be, and the N9 will be the "mobile computer" that the N900 didn't become due to several factors not specifically related to the N900 itself.

The N900 is reaching its end of life, but Nokia is finally started to roll. These two devices, N8 and N9, will be hard to beat by anyone for a long time (= almost a year in the phone world ). And don't forget Samsung and Bada. Things will really change now. SE is already number 2 in Android devices sold slightly behind number one, within 6 months they will be number one, far ahead of the rest. Nokia and Samsung will eventually go all Bada/Symbian^3 and some Meego. The big question is win7Mobile, HTC? HP? Asus? LG? I din't know, but the moment the N8 reaches the shelves, the N900 is dead, from a sales point of view at least. And when the N9 comes out, the N900 is already forgotten.

Please, read more carefully. I am not saying that he is right or wrong. Frankly, I couldn't care less. What I am saying is that these threads have been started over and over again and by the time the N9 will have arrived, this forum will have more threads started by disappointed nitwits (who rather stare at youtube vids than researching specs) than usefull topics like hacking the PS3.

That song is growing a bit boring. Someone who's not able to do some basic research wants to tell me, again, that the n900 is dead, while I use this machine on a daily basis and find more use for it almost every week. It's nothing more than uneducated blah blah that makes me wish Nokia would have forgotten about marketing the N900 altogether.

On top of that, the OP can`t even write a decent fricking thread title nor a decent post.

This machine of mine will hopefully be alive long after Nokia has officially abandoned it, with a nice pulse, and certainly not as braindead as some posters around here seem to be. CNet and ZDnet... Christ...

I agree. I just think it's kind of ironic and funny that the "death" of the N900 kind of marks the "rebirth" of Nokia. Also it's funny that Android soon will become a synonym for Sony Ericsson, who would believe that a year ago when everyone thought SE was dead? It just shows that all this death of this and that really is meaningless, things changes way too fast overall.

Bah, I hope somebody releases another linux phone before I destroy my N900.

Ovi maps, bad as it is, took me on a complete circuit of australia this year, and my phone is looking a little scratched and battered, not to mention most likely full of red dust.

There's no other phone that has a full-fat linux on it, and I want that. I want it enough that my phone before the N900 was an Openmoko. Dear god was *that* a mistake!

Oh, that's right. I had to download those applications, they didn't come with the phone. They work well.

There is nothing to repent. I read the specifications and knew up front this was going to be the "Heath-kit" sort of ride. It's been a fun ride and will continue to be a fun ride until the screen breaks or the processor falls out.

As for this being the "end of the N900" all I can say is try to buy a new 2007 Toyota from the dealer. You'll find most devices do have a shelf life.

For your information, N900 is just officially launched in all major cities in China (though it has been launch in Hong Kong in May). Almost exactly the same day as the launch of iPhone 4 in China.
