Whats so special in the UK firmware version that you absolutely need to wait for it and not flash to the Global version?

I don't know whats the cause for delay from Nokia's end but what is stopping you from flashing your N900 with the Global version? Just curious.

What's stopping me reflashing is the need to reinstall everything and redo all the customisation settings. I'm quite happy to wait though - I'm not hearing of anything worth the extra effort to get PR1.3 for. Next time I brick the phone I'll reflash with the global version though (if BackupMenu fails to recover anyway).

Dude!!

The uk wait really has nothing to do with your network unless you are running a vodafone ROM!

There are generic versions for various regions, I'm unbranded and running the generic uk variant of 1.2. This build has not been updated yet for some reason (Nokia do move in mysterious ways). Being in the UK it just seemed to make sense to flash that version to my handset. Obviously if i have to wait too long i'd concider doin the global update, but i'm sure there some minor differences in regards to wifi fequencies between the global & UK version, dunno how much diff it would make tho.

I tto got a text telling me to go to nokia.co.uk/softwareupdate, which says latest version is 20.2010... etc. However, software updater reports that i have 10.2010 installed, and latest version available is 10.2010... so I have the latest version...

I guess I'll wait a bit..

Mi6 regards anyone who owns uses or even considers using an n900
as suspicious and possibly dangerous elements needing extensive surveillance.
it takes quite a bit of time to gear up the machine when the rules change.

As if you did not have enough pubic cams in the uk already

first thing I`ve done when I got my N900 was to flash the global version, no more waiting for the UK firmware
