Catacylsm and abill_uk, are you guys for real, the N900 is more almost two years old, how do you expect it to run emulators that need to rescale the resolution and match faster/better hardware?

It's one thing overestimating the Maemo developers' abilities to think they'd cope with hardware limitations, but why do you underestimate iOS developers and think they coded applications that don't make full use of the hardware they are meant for?

Much wishful thinking on this thread... sextuple facepalm may be too little...

There are some temporary solutions to multitouch as far as that goes (again see preenv)

As for hardware limitations this is inaccurate to some extent, remember that even the early gen touches are still running fine on hardware very similar to our own, not only that but rumour had it back then that the hardware was also downclocked/limited? the n900 runs under full power, and i'd also say that the majority of users running 800 plus overclocks are slightly, large hehe

resolution scaling i doubt will be needed, just stretch to fit with its ratio to avoid the n900 rendering more then it needs too, the ipad does it fine, but stretched due to the 10 inch wopper it handles.

So again i'm seing no issues and while you have valid points i'm doubtful of them affecting the process too much, technology hasn't moved too much in 2 years tbh, just the samsung galaxy having like half the power of the ps3 or something i read haha.

Everyone needs to stretch things with a 10" whopper from time to time.

Not sure about that given Rovio is based in Finland and Nokia tried to cut some deals with them (including the incomplete Bounce). I could distinctively remember playing it upon release of the N900 (November 2009) and was first released on the iphone in December 2009.

The only difference was, iphone was a "full version" whereas N900 was a Demo since bloody Nokia took forever to get OVI store working properly for N900.

Maybe Nokia knew that they would not support the N900 for a longtime, that's why they did not managed to release a full version.
So all of that being said, please, stop insulting at yours and let's concentrate us on the subject. It's true that the N900 has some limitation, but one year later we couldn't imagine that it would be able to perfectly run WebOS games or even Android Apps. So c'mon guys.... Be optimistic and let's demonstrate to nokia that they did a wrong choice throwing away maemo/meego.

Err.. How do you suggest that someone should start? OK.. lets brainstorm..

How about writing the letter to Apple and say that you want to do an open source version of iOS for N900 and would love if they can release every bit of their source code? Call up my mate Steve Jobs and ask him for the code?

How about reverse engineering? hmmm.. hack the roms and work back?

How about... if someone ports over OpenDarwin and rewrites the Core OS, Core Services, Cocoa and Media Abstraction layers - then does a Springboard equivalent shell? Along with writing the drivers to work with the 100 odd hardware functions of the N900.

Not to mention Apple's Lawyer armies once you have gotten to a working state?

All of those months and months of effort.. to do something that you can for the total grand price of $200 USD to buy an ipod touch 4th Gen 8GB? What is it going to prove??

"I too would like to see PS3 games on my N900 too.. but no one wants to port that across.." (Sarcasm, folks..)
