I would imagine that you need a separate licence code for North America. The activation code for the Europe 2007 kit would probably be restricted to use of Europe maps only.

My kit is Europe 2007 and I have tried it with installed US-West maps on the card and it requires a different activation code.

why do you suppose they make it so hard to actually buy their software? I really would like to purchase it, but they are making it so hard that i will probably just get a GPS receiver and the free version that they have on Maemo (im sorry i cannot recall the name).

to Dehem,

I sent Navicore support a question to address your problem with using the US maps after activating other maps. I have my europe kit and will not activate it until I get an answer.

I saw this on Navicore's website and thought it may help you while I am waiting for their response to your problem.

Do you really need to pay $150 euros to get just the software? I already have the GPS just need the software. I would think you could get the software for $150 or less USD and have them email the activation code. Any thoughts? Don't get me wrong, I like Maemo mapper, but I would like to try out this software. Is it worth it? I used to have TomTom with my old WM5 device which worked great.

To ease confusion it is useful to bear in mind that most of Navicore's site is referring to mobile phone products, e.g. Licence Manager, Update, etc.

Info related specifically to Nokia Internet Tablets is usually labled as such.
