There is still hope to get the partition back to some functionality, because partitions one and three are working fine. But the command was faulty. Please try
Code:
sudo gainroot
mkfs.ext3 -L optfs -c /dev/mmcblk0p2

Before applying crude force to the partition, try to install recovery-tools http://repository.maemo.org/extras/p...tle5_armel.deb , you may also need libncurcesw5, and run testdisk to fix the partition.

Download the package to Documents, then install it. This will may be give an error. The next command should fix that.
Code:
sudo gainroot
dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/recovery-tools/recovery-tools_6.11-9-fremantle5_armel.deb
apt-get install -f
testdisk /dev/mmcblk0
In testdisk choose 'Proceed', then 'Advanced', then go the second line and select 'Superblock', does it find any? If you find superblocks go back by hitting 'q' twice. Then choose 'Analyse', 'Quick Search', go to the second line, then hit 'p' to list files, are there any?

Sorry, please clarify.
I was under the impression you have recovery-tools installed now and you would try to get started with testdisk...

test mmcblk1

Code:
TestDisk 6.11, Data Recovery Utility, April 2009
Christophe GRENIER <grenier@cgsecurity.org>
http://www.cgsecurity.org
Nokia N900 porting by Luigi COTIGNANO - http://n900.altervistDisk /dev/mmcblk1 - 3965 MB - CHS 121008 4 16

Warning: the current number of heads per cylinder is 4
but the correct value may be 64.
You can use the Geometry menu to change this value.
It's something to try if
- some partitions are not found by TestDisk
- or the partition table can not be written because partitions overlaps.

That is the wrong partition!
I asked you to try the second partition in testdisk. You have to scroll to the second line, when all of your partitions are shown. Then try to get the list for this partition, please.
