Would like to see full log (incl. command), but I would guess broken HW (or possibly just corrupt firmware image file, broken download?). Maybe rainisto has another idea or confirms?

I think so. Here is the full log from the start without the cold flsh parameter. I have to get this working today as I'm flying out tomorrow...

readfile error would suggest that your download has failed, have you checked md5sum of your bin file to see if its corrupt or not?

Second option would be bad usb cable.

3rd option is to try flashing with linux machine.

I tried redownloading another file but no luck. Could it be because I changed the name of the file to fm.bin? Trying to think of what else it could be. Why is it detecting the battery at 100% even if it's not? I don't think it's the USB cable as the N900 works fine on it... and I tried doing this on a mac but same thing...

Renaming of file has definitely nothing to do with it.

Did you check the md5sum?
Iirc mrcrab provides them also.
Why re-download fails? Try again...

How do I check that? I tried many times to run it, I don't know what to do. I think the problem is - the reason it fails is not because of a corrupt file but because the program thinks that the phone is 100% charged when the battery is almost dead. So it tries to install it while the battery is dead and of course it gives an error beause the phone dies again...

Do you have an external battery charger? To work around the problem?

Best wishes.
