I've read through this entire thread and am about to do the update reflash. Before I do, I was wondering if my 2 favoirite emulators work with Diablo....
* DosBox (with the RubyBox frontend)
* Garnet VM
Anyone try these yet? I use them all the time and would hate to update and be disappointed.

There's no reason why both shouldn't work, but I can at least confirm Garnet works fine.

Thanks for the quick response. Looks like I might do the reflash today then if I have the time.

Yes, I could be kidding, but really I am not.

If you uninstall the osso-software-version-XX package, when exists a SSU you will need to update with the red-pill mode (the packages to update aren't shown with blue-pill mode) or with apt-get upgrade.

I could be wrong, but my more-than-one-month with SSU updates does me suspect.

Bummer. The browser is the single most-used component of the tablet and it would really benefit from the more recent development (and release quality).

Fremantle/Maemo 5.0? It's still a vague target and not expected until sometime next year.

I tried to search for some explanation for the apparent lag in releasing more recent browser code but nothing obvious jumped out.

Maybe the older versions of GTK/GLIB used in 4.x of Maemo aren't simply well-suited for building some of the latest GTK-based apps?

Whatever the reason, I hope some kind of solution, even if unofficial, could be found to bring the browser (engine + UI options) closer to the mainstream release.

The browser is seriously lacking in modern features as shown by Opera mobile, and the Firefox mobile project. The ability to zoom in on a full screen web site is what makes Opera so popular. Why can't we move the browser development along on the tablet? Reading tiny text is hurting my eyes!

Also rotate the damn browser window. Some sites benefit from portrait mode.
