Hi, in UK on vodafone network but with unlocked phone, waiting along with many others for the update. I was just wondering though if there was any difference between the uk firmware and the uk vodafone variant firmware? I'm currently using the uk firmware and not the vodafone variant and wonder if this is the best option or if there would be any network specific updates that i might need or indeed if switching to the vodafone variant would put limitations on the device. Finally... will my device simply update with the standard uk firmware as this is the currently installed version or will my phone recognise the vodafone sim and try to update the vodafone variant? Questions, questions, questions I know.

Personally I would leave it with the generic UK firmware. AFAIK the only thing I can see which the VF variant has is the APN details already loaded when you get the phone which is a lot less than they usually put on.
I think that the network branded firmwares get updates slower than generic and if you decide to get rid of the handset then a generic firmware would be better IMO. The operator SIM will not make a difference AFAIK.
