Great work on this! I installed DT a couple of weeks ago, and as far as I can tell, it has done away with what I considered by far the most annoying problem with my N800, which was the "random" (often while web browsing) lockup/reboot it would experience on a regular basis. For fixing that alone, this is among the best things I've ever installed on my N800. Definitely recommended to anyone who's had this problem and wants to stabilize their tablet.

So I've finally installed this on my N800. The installation instructions were followed and there were no unexpected issues.

The touchscreen driver improves the Canola2 experience, so thanks for that.

Two issues:
The Home button is not working from applications. In Canola2, in particular, I relied on the Home button to get back to the desktop without exiting, and now I can't (Canola2 only runs fullscreen). Note, I do not have Telescope installed. ASUI uses the Home button and it works as expected in that interface; I've just lost the standard action.

Second, App Manager is now telling me there's an upgrade fro gpsdriver-guard, which is N810-only. I guess I don't actually need that? It would be nice if the instructions had made it clear that I didn't need to install it; are there other DT .deb packages that I shouldn't have bothered with on my N800?

How consistent is this and how many apps are affected? I have Telescope installed, but not DT (yet) or ASUI (yet). I may be hallucinating, but I seem to recall occasionally running into situations where Home didn't work with Canola.

Thanks for asking. At the time I saw the problem, I couldn't get the Home button to work from the standard Images photo-display program either. But time (and perhaps locking and unlocking) has solved the problem, for both Images and Canola.

@mcow:
Glad to read that the problem is gone.
You should really try telescope, it makes a whole new experience, much much better than the old task switcher

went ahead and did the install (confused at first because the information that one need both "update two" and "previous release" is not up front).

on first reboot the desktop took forever to show (had the sidebar showing for a while) and then got a automated reboot (screen content fade to left). The second boot went smoother and i got the dsp settings in ASUI so i guess the install is working. So far not noticed much difference tho i have yet to stress the tablet.

You can uninstall gpsdriver-guard or upgrade it to make the upgrade go away, since it is not used in the N800 both sollutions are good. This is the only N810 specific package; I'll try to clarify the instructions.

Hi. I first installed the packages a few days after this thread launched. Lots of things seemed nice, but ever since then I started having a problem with the screen keyboard (I have an N800). The device would work fine, but it would freeze every time I pressed the "space" key from the keyboard how about that?...

Today I finally decided to try installing the updated from the packages. Downloaded everything from garage, dpkg'ed them with no problems... (running a shell via ssh). Turned off the machine and... It will not turn back on again now.

I have boot menu installed. Sometimes I start the boot, it shows the "NOKIA" screen, then comes back to the boot menu. then I select "internal flash" again, and the screen gets black, device seems to turn off...

Any ideas? Time to finally flash the damn thing?

Run the flasher program with --enable-rd-mode --set-rd-flags=no-lifeguard-reset -R and try to boot.

You say "comes back" and "select again", does this mean that the device boots to boot menu, you select "internal flash", then the boot menu appears again without the device rebooting?
What happens if you select boot from mmc?
