Nope, not at all!

Did you ever consider doing it manually?
The installer is basically a shell script... running one command after the other may give you the working Nitdroid playground

rm /home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid/N12_UMay.tar
cp /opt/NITDroid-Installer/FileManager.apk /and/system/app/
cp /and/etc/oc-profile-500-700.conf /and/etc/power.conf
grep -Ev 'heapsize' /and/system/build.prop > /home/user/1
rm /and/system/build.prop
sed '$a\dalvik.vm.heapsize=32m' /home/user/1 > /and/system/build.prop
dpkg -i /home/user/MyDocs/.nitdroid/nitdroid-kernel*.deb
You might even create the uninstaller menu item and remove the nitdroid-installer menu item, but this is optional

all fine until here but at this line

I get "cp: cannot stat '/opt/NITdroid-Installer/FileManager.apk' : No such file or directory"

nope, I've used NITDroid-Installer_0.2.8-8.deb, that beta one is new to me. running it right now, will post back what it gives

Got android running.

Hello. I just insalled 2.3.7 on my n900. And am having this problem of the usb notification always on and when plugged to the pc, nothing happens. Also, my 3G won connect after adding my apn. Please help.

Just received an email from dropbox. Apparently the link for the NITDroid files has been generating too much traffic so it has been deactivated!!! Anyone know of a decent place to host them?
