Nokia is going to use Windows Phone to try to finally get into the u.s. market. They don't want to risk that strategy by putting out a Meego/Harmattan device in the u.s. which has no future. So I predict no consumer device for the u.s. Good I live in Europe
As long as I can buy it from amazon or even Nokia.co.uk and have a relative ship it to me, I'm all set.

i cant believe that nokia would make such a great phone and dont want to sell it in the u.s., but possible is everything. And as K123 mentioned before, its also possible that the fcc has already the consumer device. we dont know every device they are certifying...

and, hell yes, i love "the old world"

BUT: there are NO FACTS as long as its not announced... we are not nokia so we have to believe our sources

Define "great phone", please.

Great hardware? Best OS? Best browser? Most useful applications? Seamless integration with e.g. google? Most future proof?

in which term hardware was too old? It had the same 12mpx af camera like N8 -> so better than Consumer device.
and Cortex A8 @ 1 GHz and i believe, from the fact that the consumer device can’t handle 1080p content, that it won’t have a dual-core cpu, but the same A8, maybe a bit over clocked. So were is the „new“ hardware in the consumer device?

we believe in U8500

nobody knows the used cpu, K123 just made a guess without any proof... so it could (and should) be a dual core

might be the keyboard. The kids don't like keyboards and nokia thought they can sell this phone in massive scale if the remove the keyboard. Which of cause is wrong...
