I just attempted to use the kernel deinstall on v34. The phone just showed 100% cpu use for about 30 mins so i tried to reboot which resulted in an infinite reboot loop. Desktop background loads then phone crashes. Brilliant! stuck at work so cant even reflash! is there anyway of getting the phone back up and running or do i have to reflash using the cable?

Thanks

just flashed PR 1.2

restoring installed apps, including titans power kernel v34
rebooting... no problem
trying ideal config ... no problem (so far...)

so... titans OC kernel still works after update (at least on my n900)

hm, odd. do you remember what process used 100% CPU?
you should have asked here before rebooting.
yes, you'll need to reflash the kernel via flasher.
Never do some upgrades to core components if you don't have a USB cable around!
I have added this warning to the wiki page.

just a fyi.

i was on kernel27, PR 1.1.1, attempted to uninstall via kernel deinstall icon in applications menu. was fine until i rebooted, and it turn itself off after the 1st set of flashing lights (before asking for PIN).

in the end i used flasher3.5 and reflashed to 1.2.

now i can't see the maemo extra-devel repos but i'm restoring apps from espejo's repo mirrors.

will reinstall kernel34 once done ...

Installed all the needed stuff, checked that the kernel got installed. Seems to work fine.

I ran /usr/sbin/kernel-load /usr/share/kernel-power-settings/xlv
it said that it loaded successfully, I guess it's now temporarily enabled and no need for reboot?

Don't worry all sorted now. back up and running on PR1.2 with your kernel and xlv settings (250, 1000). Think it needed a reflash to be honest, seems much more responsive and less glitchy now!

Think the process was apt-get or something like that. Was fluctuating in conky, but my cpuload applet showed 100% cpu constantly and phone was very unresponsive.

Happy its all working again now and will never forget my usb cable again!!

Thanks!

have you installed rootsh? and which version? i think 1.8 is the latest version for use with PR1.2.

Correct me if im wrong people! but i think you need the latest version (1.8) from devel or testing catalogue, cant remember which, and not 1.5.
