Yes, that's what I meant, that I was trying to seek too soon before enough of the film had buffered - I think. Anyway I can seek if I wait a minute or two, but not as soon as the movie stars.

But I still do not get an automatic "resume" if I close Knots and restart and open the same movie. I think I used to, though.

I actually have my buffer_seconds set at 20 though it doesn't seem to do much of anything.

Also, make sure to have the latest VLC media player installed (1.0.5).
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I upgraded to that last night and the whole seek feature is now perfect on my end.

There used to be tons of screen garble and foolishness before when I skipped ahead on a show, but after upgrading VLC media player, I couldn't ask for anything better.

I think Knots is now probably my favorite application to waste time with and I'm still amazed at how well it can play cartoon and anime shows.

Then again, I tend to get easily excited.

I compilde ffmpeg and installed it on my macbook. I uninstalled it again with sudo make uninstall. It removed everything. Rebooted installed ffmpegx. I can't seem to get any picture when using the n900 and n900 3g profile (copied the data from page 15). Any ideas? Perhaps its something to do with the xvid codec? I have vlc 1.0.5 installed. The browser profile works fine though. Vlc can play the file just fine. Where are the settings stored for knots on a mac?

Tried to convert a file and it converted fine.

My problem was fixed by ukki. The VLC makes the cpu go crazy i get up to 140% cpu usage. Changing the xvid format to mp2v makes it work perfectly. There might be an issue with xvid to xvid.

I've been having problems with the aspect ratio on many video files. VLC can play them fine, but they're incorrect after they get piped to my n900. Where can I mess with the configs to fix this?

Can you check where the problem is for me? Start a video with your N900 and leave it running, open VLC on your desktop, select open location and enter http://localhost:19780/stream.asf as address. Is the ratio off with VLC too?

I get no video at all on a local VLC client.

The "browser" profile yields the correct aspect ratio whereas the N900 profile does not.

I have the same problem, which is annoying because I'd like to experiment with the N900 profile. It consistently shrinks the video by about 10% (?) all the way around, including the left and right borders, where it is most obvious (i.e. black bars at the sides of the screen, where none should be).

Wanna try if this package fixes your problem?
