Well.....a radical situation requires a radical surgery. Whether one is happy with Elop doing the radical healing, that is another story. I personally think that he is doing a good job

I do think that ericsson laid out their strategy correctly. I think a lot of their moves make sense. And we should be happy that he is even allowing N9 production. which company has done what NOKIA has done..

my daughter returned from kenya, where every villager has the little nokia phones, loving the FM radios and the fact that they are connected. so that s40 strategy makes sense too. nokia has done more than any other company to bring people close together

I think people should read about HTC and how they came to be. The whole idea of HTC was to make handheld mobile computers based on Win CE/Win Mobile. They did good, and are now one of the top smartphone manufacturers. Android has of course made HTC soar like they are doing now, but that (soaring) didn't start until 1-2 years ago and it is only during the last year they have really grown.

In the mid 2000, there where two options; Symbian (Nokia, SE, Samsung) and Win Mobile (HTC, HP, Samsung). HTC had many names back then like dopod, Q? and whatever.

EDoF gets a bad wrap, and for no real reason. For most cameraphone use cases it does an excellent job, and 99% of users will be happy with it.

It already does by the looks of it. Both the US and the UK are in heavy metal rock mode for not getting it at a 10$ discount and with a "plan".
