If by dialog you just mean the small window that's all that's supposed to happen. If you check pandora's website you should see new seeds on your station.

If you mean the entire app crashes then I need a report from the Terminal.

Ah, i think i see what is going on with the seeds issue, you're doing it wrong, it shouldn't be with the song/artist that is currently playing, it should be from a search like when creating a new station.

Well, that's a matter of preference . When I hear a song or artist I like, I use those to seed them.

I can see the confusion, and maybe in a future version I'll change it to "Seed current ..."

Isn't that the same thing as thumbing up?

And please add a way to add a seed by using search, the way you seed a new radio.

My Knee-jerk response was "Thumbs Up!" makes that song play more frequently, "Seeds" make a whole laundry list of new songs related to that one play on the station.

But, since you asked, I googled a little.. came across this:

http://getsatisfaction.com/pandora/t..._and_thumbs_up

In the meantime, the main difference between station "seeds" and "Thumbs Up" songs is that a "seed" is a *much* bigger influence on what plays on a station. Think of a station seed as being a whole new section of a garden-- a "Thumbs Up" song is more like a particular plant that's getting a little more water.
So I wasn't too far off.

Feature requests are great.. and when I actively develop again I'll look into it. Way too busy anymore to be adding things. Since pyRadio is working it's somewhat ignored currently, if it breaks, it will be fixed ASAP, but short of that it is what it is for a while.

I'm living outside the US and have been using the Pandora Client developed by Zig Zag Joe. The client incorporates automatic connect ion through Tor. I've post a question tjo ask the developer if he can make the client for Maemo. The conclusion is may be it's easier to use the Tor part of his client for the Maemo client. Anyone interested and capable of doing so please see this post: http://www.hak5.org/forums/index.php...&gopid=173112&

I'm having some trouble using pyRadio v 3.5 on my n800. I just reflashed the kernel -- beautiful fresh Diablo install.

It appears that I'm stuck in the username/password loop. After 3 times, it goes away, but it never actually authenticates. I've verified my username and password are correct, and I am entering my username in all lowercase. According to the Application manager, I have version 3.5 installed.

Here is the output from the terminal when I run 'pyRadio.py' from the command line:

/opt/pyRadio $ ./pyRadio.py
No FM Transmitter.
could not autorotate on
Radio Started.
Error: com.savagebeast.radio.api.protocol.xmlrpc.RadioXml RpcException: 192.168.160.42|1292472502206|OUT_OF_SYNC|You have no chance to survive make your time.
Code: 1

Can you let me know if I'm doing anything wrong? Is there another version I should install? I'm happy to test for you if you want to make some changes.

Edit: 2010/12/16
I was able to reproduce the issue on my n810 as well. I changed my password so that it no longer contains numbers or symbols, and I was able to successfully authenticate on my n800 once, but I cannot get it to go again. I am still unable to authenticate on my n810. I really don't understand why, the procedure (including user/pass) is identical!

Could this be a Pandora problem?

Edit: 2010/12/16 Part 2
It now consistently works on my n800 and still does not work at all on my n810. I wonder if I need to wipe my n810 and start the battle over.
Is there a way that I can put my password in without seeing just *'s? Can I hard code it in the python file? I just want to make sure it's being typed correctly.

That is usually a time problem. The pianobar author contacted me a while back on it and offered a codable solution to the problem but I've never got around to implementing it. Usually messing with your system time you can find one close enough to "pandora's" time to allow it through.

As far as possible - yes absolutely. It should be possible to get it to work right now IF you have a proxy address.

You can actually do this yourself, until I build the functionality in it. Go to the URL's he lists in his post, such as http://torstatus.cyberphunk.org/inde...ryCode&SO=Desc, and look for ones in the US. Open a Terminal and run:

Code:
export http_proxy="someproxy.address.net:port"
/opt/pyRadio/pyRadio.py
And pyRadio should work. I confirmed that if I put in a bad address in http_proxy my Pandora will not work, and if I put in a good US proxy address then it worked fine. Not the best test but because it fails with the bad address in there leads me to believe pyRadio (python) is respecting the environment variable.
