version 0.5.9 shows up in application manager here, but it may be that its not been ported to the N900 (i am using a N800).

Each time mcalendar starts up, it inserts a new entry in alarmd. The bug can be fixed by editing /usr/lib/mcalendar/mcalendar_prefs.py
