Please read the full thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=908561 as Epitaph's "app" is dubious to say the least. Also be very aware it's a "demo" - ie it installs a 'nag' screen which will popup every 30 minutes until you donate money to Epitaph.

I've removed any app that shows adds or things like this, just don't trust them. I also read this thread and I can't recommand it to anybody

i thought that it is sucking up the battery but i figured out that i was using my n900 more than usual because of this patch

when i didn't have this patch i used to work on n900 for 2 hours then
i get angry of it's lags or get bored

but now i never get bored

PS try to enable smart reflex it will give you 2x battery
just like it did to me

and for epitaph app
i don't recommend using a closed source like it

so use this patch it is obvious and simple and effective

just like what seker_94 said the patch has nothing to do with the battery

so it doesn't suck it up

but i might be 1% wrong
so if anyone else noticed a faster battery drain or any other problems
just post them and i will fix them if any are existed

For me i have smartreflex enabled

standby takes 4 days to drain

normal usage (calls, sms,a bit of browsing) will take 1 - 3 day to drain (it depends)

medium usage (games, browsing, calls, sms) takes 12 hours to drain

heavy usage (games, browsing, calls, sms, vidoes, random apps, camera,,etc) will take 8 - 9 hours of continious usage

although i'm not 100% sure of that
but i'm satisfied of my N900 battery life

How did you enable smartreflex?

i used qcpu app
then simply pushed on smartreflex button

or there is another way to do that by installing kernel-power-settings
then modify the config files manually

to install qcpu
install it from application manager

or

apt-get install qcpu

seems the latest patch has botched up something. I got a reboot, cause unknown. but only difference from then and now is installing this new patch. The old patch used to work fine.

I also notice that my memory usage has gone up. Have to investigate. As of now I am keeping this patch. If another reboot occurs would have to try without this patch.

The values given in speepatch as part of event.d esp the last cpu shares and memory shares are creating issues it seems for me. I rebooted my comp (n900) and with charger connected and values as part of the speedpatch, hildon-home hung up on me, I could not click outside to keep only on usb charging.

with the values gone, and a reboot I was easily able to click outside without any hildon-home hang.

Also I saw that memory usage has gone down drastically, with the values in the patch memory usage

250MB on RAM
144MB on swap

without the values on patch

233MB on RAM
40MB on swap

Need to research more on the values. Seems they are not working for me atleast.

i have actually noticed that the ram usage is more than usual with the values in speedpatch
as far as i saw in my n900
ram is 70% used to be 50 -60 % without the values
but it is not causing any troubles for me (so far)
you can notice that swap is up to 750 mb so it is ok if it gets to 144 mb

please do some more tests and give some feedbacks

not only mehulrajput
But every person can do tests
reply please

cause i don't have anytime to test anything these days
if you can confirm that those values cause troubles
then i will remove them
or remove some of them

But as i understand that the value

the values gives N900 the free of usage ram memory (as much as processes needs to use) so it will give a better performance but also will reduce the ram
however as long as we have a swap 750 it is ok then

hmmm.. just tested yesterday and today,

i'm currently online in the default conversations with 3 accounts, 5 microbs open, facebook, tweego, cutube-qml (not running any videos currently) and it's showing a little bit of choppiness...

when first connecting to the 3 accounts, it did show hildon-home almost crashing but it recovered... so didn't have to reboot... not AS smoothsailing as the very first patch
