If you uninstall the osso-software-version-XX package, when exists a SSU you will need to update with the red-pill mode (the packages to update aren't shown with blue-pill mode) or with apt-get upgrade.

I could be wrong, but my more-than-one-month with SSU updates does me suspect.
Oh... I'm sorry that my tone probably seemed like I didn't take you serious.

I did. Just an odd by-product.

As an aside to everybody wanting to use AdBlock, don't bother. It's mostly just a good way of slowing down the browser. Go with an ad-blocking CSS file and hosts file instead.
Where do you put those?

Also, is there an svn buildservice for maemo? Seeing as how we all have exactly the same hardware, it seems like it would be a good idea to get nightly/weekly debs out there for testing.

Woo hoooo!

OK, here's the deal. I wasn't having the really fast browsing that everyone has been reporting; in fact my browsing seemed quite a bit more sluggish compared to pre-Diablo.

I am happy to report that reflashing Diablo - and NOT using the restore function to restore anything - fixed the problem.

I read of this "fix" somewhere on the internet - somewhere in the "comments" on a blog. It works! I have greatly increased browsing speed.

Hope this helps anyone else having this issue.

I have spent about 24 hours with Diablo. Sorry, I know people put a lot of time into working on this stuff. I realize it must be hard tedious work. And I do consider myself an average user. I don't care. Flame me.
I just find Diablo to be pretty buggy. When I browse on Internet tablet for example, it crashes almost every time and is very slow.
I have also tried using the Modest email client. I can receive email but even though I have been very careful to set it up, I can not send email.
And well, I really didn't think it was a big deal to reinstall software after reflashes in previous upgrades.
Hey, if you like it, that's great. And I have never said this before, I probably will go back to the previous version.

Sounds like something's wrong. Perhaps your internal card is corrupted?

I think my internal card is OK since I am using the original small card that came with my n800 last year and I seldom used. I'm just temporarily using it.

I did just try the method others ( Thanks Wes Doobner) have used with success.

Like they did, I reflashed Diablo and didn't use the backup utility at all.

I then tried setting up Modest using the very simple setup wizard and doing nothing more to set up Modest.

I was then able to send email with Modest! , apparently simply because I didn't restore using Backup.

I'm still wondering why the browser crashes on ITT, but I'll take what I have so far.

Still sounds like something is wrong - so far diablo has been pretty solid for most people (or you would've seen hundreds more posts like yours).

Yes, there is. point your tablet browser to chrome://adblockplus/content/config.html

and you will be able do disable it properly.

Alternatively,

just disable the component from the mircob menu "tools" (I can not be more specific, i don't have my tablet close to me)

Regards,
Mattia
