Thanks. So does that mean the makers of the bible app for Blackberry are breaching copyrights by offering NKJV free? I doubt they have paid for the copyright and then passing the app on for free to customers. Or is it possible that Blackberry has paid for it to attract customers to their device as a sort of special benefit kind of like their IM. Seems unlikely though cause barely anyone would buy a blackberry knowing about this.

Hello,

I don't know if this has been raised before. When using the Katana to view the ISV, the references to other verses are in exactly the same format as text of the book. This can make more difficult to read.

I wondered if it is possible to changed the format of the referenced verses eg put them in brackets, change to italics or change colour.

Thanks.

lasman: I'll look into that problem soon.

Everyone: katana is now in extras-testing! Please install, test, report issues, and of course vote it up! Let's get katana into extras as soon as we can.

Thanks, all!

Okayyyy... katana_0.3.4-0_armel.deb does not beyond the screen that asks to download bibles. I click yes after the security warning, and it comes up with the language selector, and hangs. Stays there until maemo offers to close down the unresponsive program...

CORRECTION: Only hangs when I'm on wifi. Works when I am surfing on my mobile (3G)

It seems fairly pointless to be asking for testers if a bug that serious is in the current version. Best fix it first...

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?

dazzakoh, I can't reproduce this. If the wifi connection doesn't work, it will hang for a while, then say that the connection failed. Can you try this again and see if it works for you now?

No offense meant but let us see if anyone can reproduce the bug.

I had installed the new version of Katana and used it to download 5 bible files using wifi and had no issues. It might be due to some network problem on the wifi network he is using.

The only thing I noticed is that it is slow in loading the bible files for you to download and there is no indication to show "Update in progress". This might cause people to believe that the program is frozen and I had previously mentioned this.

I've committed fixes for the ISV references issue and the Scandinavian characters issue. I've also changed the installation process to show the progress dialog sooner in various places.

I uploaded a new version to extras-devel, but am holding off on pushing it into -testing, to avoid resetting the karma count.

Okay whilst my N900 was sent off for repairs (and came back unrepaired) I was using a blackberry. The blackberry app is not an offline one like N900 with the whole bible on your device. Rather it is an online app so when you use it it takes you to a website with the bible (website is you version). Does that explain why all versions are available on the blackberry app? Presumably although some versions of the bible are licensed you can still view those versions online, just can't copy send, download, etc.
