The fact that getting the darn OS on it seems to be "not fun" is starting to make me doubt if I truly want one.

Maybe jolla could sell a flashable OS for these, make a bit of cash and keep Antti Saarnio in biscuits for a few more months.

I'm tempted to buy one to pretend the last year never happened, it probably would have sat on the shelf anyway so what OS is on it won't matter!

Shipped, the 64gb version is around 180USD basically. The comments in/around signing and the bootloader being locked (possibly) has me a bit gun shy.

Would LOVE a Jolla flashable ROM - I mean, it would have to exist wouldn't it?

Agree. But the seller has actually twice warned me that getting Sailfish on it would probably not work. That was before Stskeeps had ever stated anything publicly and the initial links were bandied about.

So it means the tablet with Sailfish is also locked and no flashable with other OSes like Nemo?
Basically no way to flash Sailfish on other devices and no way to flash other OSes on Jolla devices.
Not much for "openess"
