The MMS notification uses sound and LED settings for E-mail, which is why you probably aren't noticing it (I think).

Means I rewrote a tiny part in C instead of python because the python version was draining the battery
Please attach the log (or email me, instructions in first post) when you receive a message that shows up like this. Thanks!
1.1.7 uploaded (aiming for extras with this release )

This may sound like an incredibly dumb question, as most people seem to know what this app is, but....what is it? I know its purpose is to send multimedia text messages, but why a special app? Does this app bypass the charges that are incurred when sending a regular picture message from your operator? Can someone just give me an explanation that explains why this app was made?

this app is made to replace the missing MMS function in the N900, Where the MMS is missing or never going to be officially included in the Os by Nokia, fMMS is a third party application that will trying to filling one of the missing area of what the N900 can't do.
You should already know what MMS stand for by now, if not then here is the full words: Multimedia Messaging Service.
This app will allowing you to send pictures to your friend but not yet included the sound or video capability.

Just a quick thank you for a great app.
I have been battling with trying to get this to work with Saunalahti Finland. Re-checking all the settings and going nuts doing it. Finally got the thing working.
Running the reset commands did the trick. I have no idea what was wrong, but everything worked perfect after that. So those struggling with the settings...you might have everything down correctly, but at some point the setting in fmms have been corrupted and it doesn´t reset itself to the new parameters.
So do have a go at the following:
Reset all settings:
gconftool-2 -R /apps/fmms|grep apn
Should return: apn = xxxx
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /system/osso/connectivity/IAP/xxxx
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/fmms
After this, just send yourself a mms and you will also receive it(hopefully)
Infact, I would recommend this to be the FIRST troubleshoot you should try, if you believe your settings to be correct.

Thanks everyone, and sorry for lack of updates, in the process of moving so not having much time for this currently
EDIT: Uploaded 1.1.9 which fixed the translation issues with spanish, thanks everyone
Problem with fMMS? Run in x-terminal: cp /tmp/fmms.log /home/user/MyDocs/
After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.
E-mail the log to me, if you don't have the email address, drop me a PM. Thanks!
