Ok so just spent good 20mins looking around for fix for this next issue, I have now got my Overclock back and Kernel47 in boot entry, noww when i go to load nitdroid i get a guru mediation error or somthing like that.. Ive searched and didnt come up with anything? any ideas?

i have reverted back to wl1251 kernel v46 for now. I had two main issues with Pali v47 kernel; one was heavy battery drain second battery temperature would easily go up after hardly watching couple of videos

Here it is - I changed extension to .txt, cause forum doesn't allow to upload attachments it in native format. My settings are nothing special - i prefer stability than "how low can i get". I agree, that every N900 is different, so it is possible that for some even such conservative settings may be unstable - but i applied very high margin, just not as conservative as stock settings, but still high. Not to mention that we don't have stock setting for frequencies above 600 mhz (sorry for pointing things that everyone know, i like explain everything in my posts, in case that some new user is reading).

Of course I'm open for suggestions, if someone notice obvious logic mistakes in my profile - it was my first attempt, and because it work with no flaws for many months, i just keep it.

About battery drain - it's hard to tell, because i use my N900 in many places (differences in signal strength etc), but in subjective manner i did not observed any changes. I also tried to do some "scientific" measurements by monitoring...

cat /sys/class/power_supply/bq27200-0/current_now

...but wasn't able to track ANY higher drain. Maybe in units of 0,1 mAh? nothing, that could make battery last shorter in real-life situations.

Also i totally agree with Mentalist - interface cannot become snappier due to overclock I keep my N900 on 500-900 to get more idle time (i e. 0 mhz) + faster, when i do something really high CPU-demanding, but without that phone just stays at 500 mhz... (as long as cpu use isn't like 95% - another info for new users, DO NOT count moment when you test actual frequency, by shell or conky or whatever... It will give You max frequency for a second or two - phone doesn't react like that in real-life use)

Although undervolting is certainly thing related to power-kernel, (especially when it may cause false problem reports), I'm not sure if this topic is good place to discuss about that - i.e i don't know if i just didn't made this thread even harder to read on-topic. Maybe we should create another thread with concerns about undervolting? I just planned to reply misiak by PM, but, who knows, maybe someone else is interested in profile testing, so decided to post it here.

Guys, for me v47 eats much more battery. V46 was very good I could have sometimes almost 2 days of simple email and some browsing usage. Now the battery gets drained in less than 24h. I wonder how to solve this.

What is the proper way to reverse back to v46? 47 seems too hot for me, i am running at 500/1000 Mhz.

I tried to Apt-get install -reinstall kernel-power kernel-power-flasher

but I kept getting v47..

Ok, i got an issue!

I updated the Kernel to v47 and by the first time i rebooted my n900, chose the item nº 2 in multiboot, wich is the one for the power kernel (i have nitdroid installed too) them i have the following message:

"Can´t flash kernel, required files not found.
Guru meditation #00000025.62017712

Hit any key for panic"


then i hit a key and go back to multiboot panel.
The maemo-omap is loading good, so is nitdroid.

What i did wrong? it just updated by the AppManager...

any ideas?

Try typing in terminal
It should inform you that package kernel-power-bootimg is to be installed/updated and package multiboot-kernel-power is to be removed. Just accept that, install, reboot and you should be able to boot power kernel 47.
