It would be nice to have a nice little review if anybody has the time as sometimes you feel certain websites have an agenda and have already made their minds up.

Unfortunately, I won't be getting mine until the new year!
I'm the type of consumer that absolutely must wait for reviews and shop around for pricing. Also, as I'm in Canada, I have to see what Bell/Rogers costs are, and they tend to lag a bit behind the US market, so [sadly] this implies that I will get mine very late this year, or early next year.

However, if It's really great (and the price is really right), I may try to get it from the US!

Somewhat tagential to the Tab (but admittedly only just):
Android has seen an incredible increase in game development, and this Final-Fantasy-Tactics-esque game called Spectral Souls is confirmation that big things are on the horizon! It's worth noting that there are PS2, PS3, PSP, and Xbox360, versions of the game, making this more like a complete console game and less like a 'mobile' game. The sound effects, cut scene videos, and other considerations have yet to be added to the title, but it's looking great so far, and should be a fantastic play on the Tab:

I hope to see more console/android cross development, as it makes for a wonderful mobile gaming platform. Now if only there are some sane controller options, or a standard that companies could converge around, that would be great.

Are there any good portable (small/compact -- though still comfortable) bluetooth gamepads? I like the idea of playing PSX games, but using on-screen controls seem less than appealing.

The widgets are HUGE in this regard! Such a cool feature. I love being able to control temperature, and although I have apprehensions about turning on my stove via the Tab, it would be great if I could turn OFF my stove via the Tab!

This is a very nice vision of the future that Samsung has, and seems to have baked it into a nice package!
Looks great. Probably quite a few years away before we get that kind of thing in real life everyday use and would probably mean you would have to get all Samsung devices.

I was planning to get two. One for my wife and one for myself. Was planning to get one for my wife on her birthday which is this Saturday. Everyone was saying the device would be out September i can't believe it is not going to be out for her birthday. I have to try and convince her to be patient. Don't want her to get her an ipad because I hate Apple and I think 7 inches would be much more useful for her (can fit in her bag and she can use it in bed to surf the net).

The prices I have been seeing worries me though so I think at most we will have one in our household. I was expecting the device would be sensibly priced but seems unlikely now.

If I do get one for the wife when it comes out I will try to put up a review if she gives me a chance to play around with her toy. I have never used an android device so will be good to have a view of someone using an internet tablet for the first time as well as android and compare that with my N900 experiences.

Yes, It's a shame about the price, as they could have pulled the rug from under Apples' feet with a £400-£500 device and I think it would have caught on really quickly.I still think it will sell well but perhaps not quite as well as it could.

If your wife lets you do a review that would be most helpful.
Thanks etuoyo.

Thanks for the link!

Heh... Yeah, I've seen this a *long* time ago, but it seems to be designed for feature phones, as it's not really wide enough for smartphones. It's a novel idea, but could have been designed *so* much better as to take into account the proportions of different devices and with a bit more durability (which I understand isn't its strong suit).

Other than this, it seems that a PS3/Wii controller is the best option!

I have seen a guide using a snes pad but you need to solder and all sorts. Don't think I'll bother with that one, I'm sure someone a lot brighter than me will come up with something good.
