a bold explanation would be that Elop is a marionette not sent by Ballmer but used by NOKIA's board for some "ultimate goal"...
For a person that taunts inaccuracies, you misspelled Elop and Ballmer. FTFY.

Hades is the Greek's underworld, the world of the dead.
Tartarus was somewhat equivalent to hell, but lacks any fiery element until its romanisation.
hyperboles are fine, but try to be accurate pls.
Semantics and petty observations are usually the tools of the people that have nothing constructive to say or do. That's fine though. My statement stands. All of them. And I didn't have to resort to using terms like: Flop, Blamer, M$ and other slashdot or IRC chat spawned geek colloquial phrases that somehow have persisted for over 20 years.

Meanwhile, I'll be doing research on how long McKinsey has been on the board of directors. That's a new development that's quite big. No hyperbole.

What you quoted is true, in one form or another, for every device, but for what I was talking about, this is the only quote that matters:
now now, easy, alien(ware)
was myself writing an answer when the thread got closed.

to (re-)post one of the thoughts;
the admins on that forum seem to have very partial ways.
reminds one how unprofessional this whole site is, alas.
again, if he only knew about it, a good reason for Flop to close down Maemo / MeeGo altogether, for the sole sake of avoiding a customer would end up on this site, even by accident
maybe the only reason this site is still running is that he doesn't even know the difference between MeeGo & Maemo respectively that later exists

this being said, it is a VERY long time since i last connected my N900 to a LostDOS PC to update it using OVI ware or whatever the application is called.
used the "phone suite" mode a couple weeks ago when my cable provider had a hick-up, though

EDIT: granted, update over the air is a progress for iPotatos (pun intended)
even so jailbreak remains a requirement if one wants to do anything but monitor one's CC account being sucked empty by Jobs & Co

EDIT': but yeap, using xxx analogy is probably a quick way to get on the admins' radar
and as they don't seem to have much between the two ears, it's a big chance the thread will get locked

maybe he was just being as consultant?
i got worried after knowing most of board was american. no wonder why they so clueless, the silly fat guys still think they rule the world. havent welcome their asians (few european) overlords.

That would still be a problem... they haven't done much good on any endeavor they've been involved in.

This is oft-repeated, however it seems like the board of directors is still rather Euro-centric, save Stephen Elop. Have a look... and their leadership team looks to have a few Americans (perhaps) but not an overwhelming amount.

I think that it's the investors that have shifted to mostly American, but not the leadership. I don't mind admitting I might be wrong...

what are you talking about?
there is no McKinsey on NOKIA's board
apart from Flop (who is Canadian as a matter of fact) the only North American seems to be Scardino
well, Kagermann is German, Bengt Holmström is professor @ MIT but Finish, nonetheless, Isabel Marey-Semper is French...

Richard Green still shows on that list as an active member of the directorate
not very promising.

They are preparing the groud so that Microsoft will be able to buy nokia without much hassle when it get to the ground. Then they will be able to pressure Android and Apple with a lot of lawsuits and etc.

I think this is it.

Yeah, that would be all well and good if you weren't one of the reasons the thread was closed. But you were. So...

Dude, look in the mirror. Getting banned from this site is very difficult. You, however, make it look real easy. Calm down; switch to decaf.

You're losin' it. More focus; less text formatting.

The topic was PC Free, not this "Apple's a useless ripoff" straw man.

Like your last edit, you definitely should've passed on this one.

Cheers!

with or without NOKIA wp is going to fail. like i posted before, they can manufacture whatever they want, under whatever name they want, as consumers don't buy it, it won't do them any good.

plus trying to scare OEM manufacturers away from Android is certainly not going to help them getting more popular neither with manufacturers nor with potential customers
