I would not point the finger at clock-ui at first glance, as it is the frontend and not responsible for the actual alarms.

Disabling/enabling actually means recreating the alarm (cookie), which can potentially fix issues.

To me it feels more like some corrupted alarm(d) queue...

@Ade
probably you are right, but if under the hood something is going wrong, the gui should report that the alarm is not active.

It fixes this bug: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2141
(but just only for google talk accounts, not for other jabbers)

clock-ui (0.6-1+0cssu7) is in the repo, changes:

* add maemo-launcher support
* add -dbg package
* add thumb support in debian/rules

with worldclock as .launcher, startup time should be reduced by at least a second

maemo-launcher (0.35-8+0m5) is in the repo, changes:

* enable booster-qt

This should vastly reduce startup times of qt applications witn maemo-launcher support

Hi all,

I keep my phone locked most of the time, and I find that my phone regularly switches itself from the lock screen without my knowing it. If the phone is locked and you click outside the lock code entry modal dialog, you are prompted with "Switch off device?".

It seems like it would require only a a minor change to the source code for devlock (or some other binary?) so that the power off option on the lock screen could be enabled/disabled via a new entry at this GConf path:

Code:
/var/lib/gconf/system/systemui/devlock
Scanning the net for information about devlock I found the CSSU source code for it. I'm no C developer, but I imagine the change required would be quite minor.

I did find an earlier thread about this issue, but there was no response.

Thanks,
Xagoln

Yes, this has been happening on my n900 as business phone as well.
If this could be added as a optional change, I'd be very interested..

Never ever knew this. Until today.
Just tested and yes, touching beside (over) the lock code fields open the dialog to shut down (yes/no).

BUT I never put my phone into pocket without locking the screen which 'lock device' obviously does not do.
So simplest approach would be to do:
- lock device
- lock screen (or let it automatically lock by timeout)
- only then put into pocket

I never had my phone getting unlocked in the pocket without intervention.

The problem is that if you have an alarm or something come up and reach for your phone you sometimes hit snooze in your fumbling and may be too busy to take the phone out of your pocket and check it has relocked. I think in this case the the lock code entry screen can be displayed with the phone still in pocket. I'm actually pretty careful to always lock my phone, yet this happens to me about once a week I'd estimate. I often don't notice the phone is off for several hours.
