All they had to do was start listening to customer demands for bigger screens and all the other stuff people now expect from tablets that Nokia was on the CUSP of doing themselves. Additionally, this forum USED to be called InternetTabletTalk (you can still get here from http://www.internettablettalk.com in fact) long before it decided to more FIRMLY put its sausage into Nokia and call it talk.maemo.org. Nothing you've said was either accurate nor correcting--I'm not even sure why you bothered writing a reply if you didn't at least have some first-hand knowledge or at least research this stuff first. Here... let me help you. Just a little bit this time: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_internet_tablet[...]
tell, mr. know it all... where do those come from then?

Still got my little Nokia N770 MID
Ubuntu MID on Nokia N800
Nokia N810.’MID’ unboxing.
Nokia N900: The future of the 'MID' form factor?

there is (a lot) more...

anyway, my point still holds
NOKIA is the only manufacturer of Maemo devices; always has been and, looks like it will always be
thus, unless you are willing to pay Regie another server on which he can run internetmobiletalk.org, you will have to accept that most ppl here talk about... NOKIA

don't like it?
feel free to #### off

I'm glad you see fit to point out that I knew everything I talked about. That's progress and I accept your apology.

Well! Let's see... Why--these appear to be coming from all sorts of individual forum posts and non-Nokia sources on the INTERNET! Certainly doesn't look like evidence that Nokia didn't call them TABLETS. (i.e.: http://europe.nokia.com/support/prod...port/nokia-770 and http://europe.nokia.com/support/prod...oftware-update and so on and so on. You'll note that these are actual Nokia websites.)

On the other hand, you're deflecting off into some irrelevant conversation as if there was anything said one way or another about whether Nokia has ever been the only manufacturer of Maemo devices. Talk about entropy! BUT! If we MUST go there... http://thehandheldblog.com/2010/02/0...made-by-nokia/ To be fair, this IS the only one I'm aware of and they, unlike Nokia, decided to use the giggle-inducing "MID" label for their device.

By the way, let me correct that little error for you: As I've already clearly pointed out, TMO used to be called http://internetTABLETtalk.com ...but that's alright. You've been tripping over yourself non-stop in this thread and we're beginning to get used to it by now. It's understandable and at least you can admit when you're wrong. Apology accepted once again.

To your ponderous point: I wonder, though, how DID this forum pay for itself before Nokia decided to give it a golden shower and make it rain all that money for TMO?

The only time I ever heard MID used was those Viliv devices. The 770 was an internet tablet by all Nokia marketing materials... even Nokia support calls it an internet tablet.

Regardless... that's all semantics. I never used the MID moniker. This is internettablettalk, not midtablettalk...

Oh no, its started again. It all sounds like a conversation I've heard before.

"It's a phone", "it's a computer (with a phone)", "it was advertised as a computer", "Nokia never called it a phone", "yes they did"...

if you had clicked on the link in my previous post you'd know better then insisting on the Internettablettalk moniker...
