If you can't find a package for your distribution, you can try to install the sqlite3 bindings with gem as root:
Code:
gem install sqlite3-ruby

Thanks Ukki

Tried that but I get:

Building native extensions. This could take a while...
ERROR: Error installing sqlite3-ruby:

/usr/bin/ruby extconf.rb
mkmf.rb can't find header files for ruby at /usr/lib/ruby/ruby.h

Gem files will remain installed in /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/sqlite3-ruby-1.2.5 for inspection.

Do you have a ruby-dev package or something similar?

If so install that. If you chose pclinuxos for a reason, then I would stick with it - this is what linux is about, learning how it all works. It is all part of the fun!

It works great!

Absolutely spot on

I going to have a bit more of a play to see if I can get it to transcode my m2ts stuff but I'm amazed with the results so far.

Thank you very much to the developer

Excellent app - thank you (hope you're getting some donations!) It works brilliantly unsecured inside my LAN but I'm having problems getting SSL to work on the client and would really appreciate some help.

I set up SSL and the remote discovery account via the server as described on the Wiki and am forwarding 1978, and the range 19780 to 19785. On the N900 I can access the server via the browser after logging in, and I can stream video using the Browser profile (choppy, but I haven't played with any of the data rate settings). That makes me think the server is set up correctly?

When I go to the client I can successfully enable Remote Discovery but can't connect to the server. Connect automatically gives "not connected to server". If I try to connect manually, put in the same address that worked in the browser: mycurrent_IP:1978 and select SSL I get the same thing whereas I was expecting some sort of log in password request.

Any ideas appreciated,
Geoff

If you trust just basic auth, you can disable ssl and use "force authentication" to enable basic auth without encryption. That should make it work out of box. But if you want ssl, you need to install the custom libsoup package listed in the wiki (if you are using an N900). I can't promise you that it doesn't mess up other apps using the libsoup library, but I didn't see any ill effects when I tried it.

Thanks Ukki, works a treat when I disable SSL. Not sure what my SSL problem is though. I thought I'd installed the customised libsoup (also with no ill effects elsewhere). I'll play around with it some more later on, maybe I didn't install it properly.

Thanks again for a great app and all the time you've put into working on this thread!

EDIT: Re-installed the updated libsoup as per the Wiki and SSL works very well - doesn't seem to slow things down noticeably and no problems with other apps. Many thanks!

Can you post an updated libsoup package? That one causes constant update alerts as the current firmware pull in a newer version.

Wiki updated. I tested the package and successfully connected to my server using SSL and remote discovery so it should work. Server updates the info every 6 hours so if you switch to SSL, you may need to wait for it to update that info. You can force it if you reset settings, restart server and relogin.
