The X-Savers are the prime suspect for me. 100% for most of those dropping to between 50 - 60%. The default Live backgrounds hover between 60 - 80%.

I managed to solve my uninstall problem in the end. Anyone else who has the same problem with Sherman's Aquarium and Live Wallpapers, you need to ignore what app manager is actually telling you and uninstall Sherman's Aquarium before Live Wallpapers.

maybe it would be less cpu-intensive to use a short digital-rain video file?

Maybe a 5sec looping video would work well as long as the quality isn't set too high.

Having said that I was going to create a few short vids for it using Particle Illusion. That'll create rain type effects in various video formats. Might still have a play about though.

i just searched for some free loopable video files.
found some, though they were in mov and wmv-format (worked, though). even though the longest one was 6 seconds, they would still use over 80% cpu.

but obviously they werent optimized for the n900.

You tried running them through something like Format Factory or Super prior to transferring them to the N900?

I might just re-install Live Wallpaper later, just for testing purposes. Then make a few cheap and cheerful vids in Particle Illusion, see how they fare up.

i did not. btw, the files resolutions are lower than 800x480.

gotta say i wasnt able to find any proper free mp4-videofiles. i assume this codec is optimized for the n900 since the example video files on the n900 are mp4 as well.

Hi Everyone.

We're going to finish the new version of Livewallpaper -0.9 this weekend or Monday next week.
