I like the look of the light theme, so I've decided to implement it (as an option) for the next release. 
It's not finished yet, but here's some screenshots:
The menu system is going to be changed slightly, so I'll wait until then before making any changes to button placements.
I like the appearance of those layouts, but I'm not sure they would work quite as well in landscape mode. Also, YouTube thumbnails are in 4:3 aspect ratio, but cropping would not be difficult. My main concern is reducing the vertical space available for displaying comments and related videos (particularly in landscape mode).

Obviously you're right about the layout changes in landscape mode. I thought it could be somehow possible both layouts don't need to be linked somehow.
This would be great only on portrait mode but sure will make the landscape mode less usable...

It is great app. I like it.
But it can't type and search any chinese word in search bar.
Can you modified it???

not sure if this is only an isolated incident, but compared to cutetube, cutetube xml has some laggy buffering issues when opened with kmplayer. it keeps buffering even with a good internet connection as though the connection was slow whereas the original cutetube loads seamlessly... is it km player or that's how it is?

I thought a layout like this might be more intuitive. maybe you can consider it.
...and maybe one day the video can play right on its place.
Perhaps, it would be even nicer to have the 'download' buttons (and other buttons that might come) inside a drop down menu...

- Could it be possible to get an option to set different download locations for videos and only audio, maybe xtube files?
would be nice to download audio files directly to the sounds folder...
- Could the .m4a files be saved with AlbumArt (first picture from video) and tags ?
(Maybe Album named as YouTube - Downloads)
