Another thing if anyone interested, he offered me the just announced Nokia 800 for $700 USD, so if anyone here wants to try the upcoming Nokia, then I think you know who to ask. I was esceptic too but he sold me the N9 for a bargain price.

Cheers
Can he get white 64GB? Thx.

But first impressions... the UI is not bad at all, something that is more "right" than "wrong" in ways that I felt like WP7 had gotten more right than wrong, but was incomplete....

......And that's no fanboy based review. I can point out what I call faults as well. They're there... and some bother me. More later if you wish...
I agree with everything you said Gerbick. Question: is your wi-fi hotspot working? Mine is not, when clicked on, it says 'Wireless network not allowed'.

I have contacted Joikuspot, and they are saying that they are having this issue with wireless providers in the U.S. I sent them screenshots et all, and I want to work on a patch for this issue if possible; they are working on it as well, but this does not bode well for those in the U.S. Tmobile always allowed wifi hotspot on their android phones, and Joikuspot worked perfectly on my N900...very disconcerting. Let me know, I will start up a thread on this, if there are more people with this issue.

Having said that, I'm going to wait for the Glossy White N9. If you happen to come across one, please let me know. Good luck sourcing N9s for the others.
Members nothing... it's above and beyond what NOKIA and its limp, impotent, helpless employees, management and executives have ever contributed to this community. Whatever you think of the harshness of my choice of words, they're ultimately and provably true through Nokia's own carelessness, negligence and inactions. It's incredible that they would effectively devalue, abuse and throw away their own engineers and customers this way.

Not working for me either. I have tethered with my Android phone for the last year without the tethering plan.

So get ready, my mates, as told before, the 16 gb will be in $700 usd shippng and insurance included, and the 64gb for $800 all inclusive (but custom taxes)

cheers

Ugh. Looks like it is not a Singaporean-crippling then for the phone. Looks like the U.S. was left out of the wifi hotspot party. I received a reply this morning from the fine folks at Joikuspot...

Thanks for the pictures.

I have been trying to find a solution to the issue but it seems the problem is either with the phone's 3G functionality or then the operator restricts tethering in their network. Unfortunately we are not able to say for sure as we can't test in similar conditions you have. If the problem is with 3G, it most likely will be fixed when an update to N9 becomes available, within a few weeks. Til then there is nothing we can do about the issue, I'm afraid.

By the way, as far as we know, N9 is not sold in the USA and therefore we are interested to know where you have bought your product. Maybe you could enlighten us?
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

I replied to her telling her that a few of us on the forum are procuring more N9's and are located in the U.S. I will start a thread on this in the N9 device section now that you have verified, thanks Gerbick. I wanted to first make sure it was not a regional crippling, which it looks like it isn't, it looks like Nokia/Joiku have not authorized U.S. networks in the coding most likely b/c we were not included in the initial launch of this phone. I also asked her if there was a patch via terminal that I could use to bypass this issue, will keep everyone posted on what she says.

EDIT: Here is the new thread I started on Wi-Fi hotspot crippled in the U.S. I have also submitted a bug to Nokia-dev, the link is in the new thread as well.

EDIT: Here is the dual post to MeeGo forum, in case there is different information.

So negri shipped and delivered my N9 unlocked w/ StarHub branding (limited on software) to my home. What and adventure to find one of these things. No customs stuff, and the phone is in fine condition. comes with a US power adapter because the singapore one his specific to nokia. Hoping my N8 charger will suffice.
