Nice .. but without Events screen unusable for me. Events screen on N9 is my ergonomic MAIN screen. When unlock Phone, I want see Events! No running apps. Sad.
PS: yes, no one other OS has this feature. But i have it, i use it, i want it. It is GOOD.

For all those wondering about notification handling I think I understand how it will all be dealt with. (This is only my guess from videos and feedback that I have seen. (I did see a video where the guy swiped from right to left into some sort of event screen but he then swiped back) )

-You get a gext
--You double tap the screen and see this:

---You swipe from right to left and there you go your in the events screen. As seen in icons you got texts, missed calls and ect there.
--Or swipe down to home screen

Hope this made sense

I'm with Dave here, I wanna see the browser in action (we ha already seen this demo at slush, only in Finnish).

I have had to wait all day to watch this demo because the n9 browser sucks so much. I hope they have something good planned for viewing the web.

I no see Event screen on any videos. Never swiped right or left from unlock or main screen.
In Sailfish UI is main screen combined from screen 3 on top and screen 2 in bottom from Harmattan UI.
I need screen 1. from N9. Calendar Events, ToDo/tasks, Tweets, RSS, FB & YT messages ON ONE SCREEN. It's ergonomic.

Nokia owns the swipe UI and jolla can't use it, that includes the notification screen. They might to do something similar, and its not yet ready to see. It wouldn't surprise me since they designed it in the first place. You can see things from meego like the accounts icon, so certain meego/maemo legacies will go on, but not swipe parts

I also agree that themes are going away, I don't know anyone with android/ios that use or want them. They were good on symbian, but it was ugly. On meego they aren't really needed.
Do you really think meego was a step backwards? I used both n900 and the n9, and the n9 to me is so far beyond what the n900 every was. The swipe UI makes homescreens so wasteful and pointless. The 3 screen carousel with swipe to close is so natural and efficient. Sure you can customize the n900 more, but that doesn't mean better. I have maemo, meego, android, and symbian phones and nothing can get work done like the n9.

Not. Jolla use SWIPE. Fully. SWIPE started off screen including.
And i not speak about swipe handling. I speak about one special screen.
PS: SWIPE is handling, not UI. BB10 use SWIPE too. UI is MeeGo/Harmattan.

"swipe UI" not just swipe, the UI nokia put on meego was called "swipe UI" and the 3 screens were part of that. The action of a swipe is a whole other thing

Still not clear about it. Would it be UI, or just codecs and etc.?
