I understand quite well that English isn't your first, or perhaps second language.... so allow me to answer your assumptions.

I'm not afraid of the N9 being successful. In fact, I welcome it. But Nokia has done damn near everything they can to make even my original gadget lust and/or willingness to seek a N9 out for purchase to newer, lower levels. How so?

Nokia is letting me down daily by promoting WP7. I've been using WP7 for the last 8 weeks. I ran back to my Android phone because it's closer to what I want and need in a phone.

WP7 ain't bad. But it isn't for me. Maemo, well Maemo 5 could have been for me, but EDGE data doesn't entice me at all. Nokia N9 would satisfy my lack of 3G data via the pentaband radio.

But no. Elop & crew don't want to release it outside of small markets. Instead, they want to push WP7. Well, let's see how well the first Mango devices sell in Japan - they were released there, so far, nobody I know that's there even cares.

The same will happen in Europe - outside of Germany it seems where WP7 is almost 8% of their share there somehow.

Afraid of success? I've been here since the ITT days and when I had a 770. I want it to succeed. Sadly, Nokia keeps finding ways of making that harder and harder each time they announce something.

The doomsday treatment isn't just my own doing. It doesn't originate from me. It's a response to Nokia's shooting themselves in the foot each time they say anything about the Nokia N9.

Even my legendary gadget lust is starting to waver. Am I gonna have to import the damn thing from Finland? Or Australia?

Seriously, WTF!? I get it, WP7 is "the future". I'm sure my feelings on that subject have been adequately documented elsewhere on this board.

Still, do Nokia have to deny me this thing which - let's face it - they have actually already announced?

Sidenote: as of today (26th August 2011) it's now been one month since the N9 'Hot Topic' on http://conversations.nokia.com has had any article posted to it. At all. If that's hot, I'd love to know what's not.

Aside from some of the negative stuff that I pointed out...

It was negative stuff we were "kinda" expecting anyway...
But it's always good when newer info make it's more definitive, one way or the other.
no I didnt boother read the thread simply because that thread looks exactly the same as this thread were 50 percent of the info is just bullish and own conclusion and 25 prercents is just ridicoulius repeating loops and maybe 1 percent intresting info.

so why read yet another thread were 99 percent is same info as this thread?

I mean we already knows this:

1.there will not be any more Meegos from nokia atleast not until nokia fires Elop and maybe they change this is very unlikely...

2. N9 wll not be sold in US/UK or german by carriers

3. QT(quick) is appframework for both harmattan and symbian

4. Elop has been anal****ed by Ballmer

5. Nokias strategy to compete with iphone/android is go WP7 and its "fantastic" ecosystem.... hooraay

6 Nokia says N9 will be supported for years. This may be false orl may chane same way as 1 to 5 above...

so whats the point repeating ourself with this!?

this thread should instead give info about ported n900 -> n9 apps or new apps that has already been ported to Harmattan! and there already is many apps.

my twitter and google+ comes up with apps more and more every day. But here we sitting and repeating ourself with pointless discussions about N9 not comming to US and mego is dead and anderoid is fantastic and blablabla...

we have to fight for **** sake and make sure harmattan is alive instead of letting Mrflop win even before the device is released

I agree with some of your points but at the same time we all knows that n9 will not be marketed because of stupid decisions. But why should we play theyr games then by also pissing on this device when saying stuf ike it will not be supported, phone will suck usb will break cause it did it on n900 and so on? No one know this and some is just bull.

I mean if people likes other OS:es go buy it!!! But it really is bad when reading in a forum who is about maemo/meego and 90 percent is negative posts. NOT because of the OS but because stupid copmany decions that we cant do something about or maybe we actually can but not by pissing on Harmattan! more like pissing on nokias wp7 strategy!

My point is with all those nagative posts (including myself) we actually let the Nokia board win the battle.

I had said it before and say it again if all of users/devs/geeks had used all the time spending here instead to improve n900CE make apps for N9 or the platform, hell we had a way better chance to make sure Meegohandset could survive as an open platform in some damn way..

@mike
gerbick never once said anything to piss on meego/harmattan or the device itself, EVER. He's been pissing on nokia's strategy ALL the time. The reason he's not on your page is his pessimism in Nokia (and it is justified), while on your page, there's rainbows and unicorns and fragrant flowers

Many here already got iphone, but that doesn't mean you would not want N9.
Iphone is solid(other than 3G connectivity), but i am selling it away today in favor of N9.
