Okay.. so far I've tried to get my N900 and one of my two PC-machines to work with BlueMaemo and I cannot make it work. BlueMaemo won't just connect to PC as keyboard & mouse.
After I've paired the devices within the BlueMaemo and see how the device and it's services looks like in Windows I get this list (see the attachment). As you can see the drivers for keyboard, mouce etc isn't checked and if I check it and hit apply it unchecks itself after few seconds.
Anyone has any ideas?
Edit: my phone & BlueMaemo works just fine with Mac Pro on my studio, but I'd prefer to make it work with my home PC so I could remote control movies, tv etc while sitting on the coachThere's not much use for remote control when running only ProTools :-D

i am using a symbian smartphone with the app "controlfreak" from mtvoid (mtvoid.com) to remotecontrol my pc and i often use the arrow keys while watching a movie with winamp and with the arrow keys i can easily move inside the movie and make it louder...
about controlfreak: controlfreak is a "must have" app for me, i have brought my old smartphone 2 times, just to use this app... it can STREAM YOUR DESKTOP TO THE PHONE (works great with movies too), let you zoom in and out easily and let you move your mouse or use the arrow keys and special functions of some media player too...
especially the desktopstream is something i would love. it should be like vnc, but over bluetooth

My laptop I got it pared only one time with the stock bluetooth drivers from MS, to make it work easy I had to change my drivers to Bluesoleil and now I can pair it every time without fail. Even the 2MB data limit trial is good enough for using remote functions for a long time (2mb limit resets every time you start the program)
On my desktop I have a nice usb bluetooth receiver that uses the Toshiba BT stack, I downloaded the newest drivers for it but it seems to not be working at all... not just with my N900 but my other stuff too, so some kind of issue there but I still got it to connect today with stock MS drivers by doing this:
First I paired the N900 and the computer not in BlueMaemo just normally, under the "my bluetooth devices" you will see the N900 there and it will look like a phone.
Then start up Bluemaemo and use the option to receive a connection. You will then suddenly see the already paired N900 change from a phone icon into a keyboard one, because its now a HID device.
So instead of trying to pair again, all I did was right click the keyboard icon select properties and then used the "view avilible services" tab. You should see the HID device service there unchecked, by checking it, almost right away I heard the "new hardware" beeps and it was connected and working without having to pair it again and bluemaemo was on the main screen ready to use.
So you can probably get it working with any setup but if you have some extra $$$ the most problem free solution is probably bluesoleil I think its like $20 for a year.

There is a VERY high chance it will work with some modifications. BUT: you don't need to edit the config file at all. most of the keys you can change in bluemaemo. in each application there is a button named "Settings" where you can allocate the keys.
(the config file is only needed if the key or combination isn't available/possible in the settings-window)
