sin, mr_jrt and casketizer
you need to add the file to
but you must also editCode:/home/user/MyDocs/qtirreco/Devices/
to include a line for your added remote. egCode:/etc/lircd.conf
make sure it matches the filename exactly including case.Code:include "/home/user/MyDocs/qtirreco/Devices/BN59-00516A"

they are most likely in the directory you issued the wget command in,
most likely your home folder.
/home/user/sourceforge.net/remotes/Remotemake
something like that.

Ok, I rebooted my N900 and now qtirrec doesn't work. Using my N95's camera, I can see no IR is being sent. I uninstalled the package, then reinstalled it, but it still does nothing.
It worked fine before the reboot. Any ideas?

This has happened to quite a few people here. Did you try
#apt-get remove --purge qtirreco
#apt-get clean
This will remove everything. Then try to install it again.
If this doesn't work try searching this thread for the other possible solutions.

hmm. sorry for my previous ignorant post. I guess that the files on http://lirc.sourceforge.net are not written in the same format of these qtirreco uses. I read the files conf files of MyDocs/qtirreco/Remotes/ directory and they differ with those of lirc.sourceforge... So probably I cannot use the files of lirc.sourceforge
you need to add the file to
