It's a matter of MIME type definition. The next version will do; the configuration is in SVN now.

The shuffle problem seems to be solved. The high skipping times seem to
be caused by the covers. However MB sometimes has problems with
updating the displayed metadata. Sometimes the last view tracks are updated
again in a fast sequence. I don't know, how to describe this problem more
precise.

No need to describe. I've seen it, too.
Thanks for giving quick feedback.

Do you really think, the cover sizes are making problems? It would be a lot
of work to delete all covers, test it, and insert them again.
I made all covers in cd print size 120x120mm with 300dpi.

Maybe you can try with one cover and see if the file gets loaded quicker.
I'll be looking at the large cover issue. Normally having large covers shouldn't hurt.

I'm on a n900. I just updated to 2010.10.16, and I can confirm that the shuffle problems are fixed there. Thanks!

It looks like it now takes ~1min to switch between tracks for me, but I've been running it with "MediaBox -vvvv &> ~/mbox.log", so I don't know how much of it is due to the logging. Hopefully it is the logging, as it used to take a few seconds (I don't recall how many tho) to change tracks.

My cover art is mostly in external files, PNG formatted. I can hunt down exact sizes if needed, but they vary from around 500x500 pixels in size to maybe 2000x2000.

I've attached the log (generated from the command above) of it playing a few tracks (with song names and other details removed) and the script I used to rip that data out. They'll both need to be un-gzip'd.

I updated to the new version in ekstras, and now i can't locate downloaded videos from youtube..
I find one of them in the "resent 50" playlist, but not in the folder..
I've tried to uninstall and install again and i've downloaded new videos to the same folder, but it won't locate the old files from before i updated.
Is this a known bug? How do i fix it? Do i need to dl it all over?

Sorry for my "english"

No need to download again. The videos have to be somewhere. MediaBox doesn't delete files.
Most likely, tracker on Maemo never discovered these videos and only MediaBox put them in its index after downloading.
The index might have got invalidated for some reason, and rebuilt from what tracker reports to be there. You can manually scan folders for media in MediaBox, too, so you don't have to rely on tracker.

Hmn... I am having similar problems too. It takes too long to skip tracks and moving on to the next song.

It didnt used to take this long in the previous version...
