Things seem to have settled down now on v47 and on imap1. Didn't do anything to it. Just a couple of days and some reboots.So-anyone having problems see what it's like in a day or 2.

I have had a peek in the tracker.cfg even though I've never manipulated it myself previously and it looks fine - my sound/video files are in the watch/index paths..

Help?!
Did a tracker HARD-RESET - solved it.

I think it was not related to kernel anyway, but to tracker being buggy. During last 18 months with my N900 i encountered the same behaviour as you described at least two times. But before the reboots I changed in htop which process is messing my N900 - tracker was using almost 100% cpu (totally out of the blue) and when I tried to open media library it showed me either empty or "please wait indexing new media" dialog and told me to wait for infinity. After reboots then my library was also empty and had to do manual tracker hard reset. So it's rather some tracker bug, than kernel bug (just pointing it so others curious or afraid of installing can know that many of bugs in this thread are, in my oppinion, not kernel-related).

The sound problem had nothing to do with this kernel It was gstreamer0.10-av whcih got pulled in via ogg-support. Thta was fixed yesterday and works for me (and others) now.

i have no problems with v47 except short outages (like the gaps between tracks) in music playback if i listen with a bh-905 bluetooth headset connected to the n900.

it seems to me that these playback outages do not happen so often if i'm not connected to a wlan network at the same time.

with v46 i haven't noticed any playback outages in conjunction with a bluetooth headset.

maybe this is related to the posts here and here.

Thanks Niqbal, I was able to install v46. One que, it took 14 MB or space in rootfs. Do I need to remove v42 now or does it actually overwrites ?

I'm running on 1150min max lv now testing if it can run stable... so far, been playing a lot of angry birds lately.... no crashes, watched videos, no crashes... browsing music/videos/web/games and runs very smoothly... will try streaming videos (used to crash sometimes) and see if it runs well..

If this goes well.... WOOT!!! super-duper-fast phone

woops... looks like it just crashed after posting this for awhile... here's what I had on while posting this at 1150min max lv:

web browsers = 3
IM availability = 3 accounts
FAPMAN = was updating catalogs as it rebooted
sociality = was just left open
mediaplayer = not playing, just left open... will play after i finish updating fapman

maybe i shouldn't have so many things open...
