I was only referring to their version of libhybris supporting 64bit unlike Jolla Not interested in the rest of the OS.

I tried Ubuntu touch, but my first warning that I was stepping into unknown territory was when I had to create and use a launchpad login to even complete the install. I rejected Google-play Android for the same reason. For now I am using CyanogenMod and F-droid software repos, but it and Ubuntu Touch use non standard commands and programs, I may not be a Linux Guru but I have 15 years of making it work. Maemo works correctly with some distro specific tweaks, Ubuntu Touch and Cyanogen are for their own differing reasons a far off hacked Linux derivative.

Ubuntu touch will probably be developed alongside the rest of the O's, however given lower priority.

I truly doubt this.

Nicely done.

The same form factor as my old ACER Iconia,
specifically chosen to fit in pockets as your video shows.

It does look like a very nice machine.

The handling in WIndows means it would be pure rocketsled
under some sort of linux distro.

More on that in a post of a different perspective, shortly.

This was an outstanding suggestion,

- it was so relevant I went back to the dogpile
and dug up the kit to try it on my daft ACER W4-821

Excellent distro...
a rolling systemd-less debian distro...
got it on 2 harddrives for my laps..
one...my fav convertible ..runs like a dream...
the other a laptop predating 2000 ...with about 256mbs of ram...and it runs like a dream...
it needs very little ram..
I think it'll run on 64 mbs of ram actually..
very very clean , smooth running and flexible distro...
absolutely no work has been done for arm at all...
so it is an open book to be used and abused..
Unfortunately the ACER w4-821
is still dumb as a post (no sound)
and as daft as a politician (no wifi).
I used the 64bit versions and it blew right through
the 32bit UEFI bootloading 64bit hardware issues seen elsewhere:
Both AntiX-16 and MX-15 have the 32bit UEFI bootloader,
both also have an elderly 32bit iso if you care to try (I will, later)

But the tools that come with both antiX and MX
could be very useful for hardware that might work.

CLUE: anyone trying these on S---OnaChip hardware
should edit the grub adding "nomodeset" to the grub launch.

Code:
linux ...vmlinuz... whatever... bla bla verbose nomodeset
(just hit e when you see the boot menu and follow instructions,
edit the line beginning with "linux" then hit f10

To be sure the wifi and audio can probably be fixed
through some extraordinary contortionisms,
but those efforts get lost on the first system upgrade
or the first time your tablet has a boot hiccup.
Grief guaranteed.

Thanks to endsormeans,

Hi again railroadmaster:

If you are up for another 2 litecoin,

post a screen cap of two more tests from ANTIX and MX

1.
AntiX-16 64bit (antiX-16_x64-full.iso ) like the one below
from my Iconia W4-821 showing the "full-info" report.

2.
MX-15_64bit (MX-15_x64.iso) showing the network connections dialogue.

both of these distros have no issue with UEFI,
and are very well tuned.

I will send the LTC to the same address as previously sent.

cheers

( you will almost certainly need to use the "nomodeset"
option I described previously )

[If they have a working internal wifi you will win the big prize.]

The quest continues...
