If the way to be better than your competitors is to have more features than your competitors, then Symbian is the best mobile OS in the world.

But I also think recent competitors have shown that it is more about the quality of the features than the quantity of them. For instance, you can sell really a great deal of devices, even if it has a closed ecosystem, no MMS, no ASR etc. Do certain things a lot better than others rather than trying to match everything that is already available.
For example, price to implement, studies based on usage, time it takes to implement and how it would impact release date. Or how you can make other features better using the time you would've spent on MMS.
Not lack of MMS is ok because the iphone doesn't do it either. though that's not true anymore.

I would hope that lessons are learned frfm this thread merly it being forgotten when its locked. To delete this thread would too be self-defeating.
The lessons for sociologists are plain as day in this thread towards communities, online interactions, and spoken/unspoken rules of engagement and judgement. For me, this has been quite insightful.

Maemo community isnt mature and do not ready to go out of the sandbox. Sad, really sad. Because without strong community I do not believe in any success of Maemo in real world.
So my estimations about sales of next devices was corrected due to this (and also marketing is sociology of net nowadays Do not believe that a lot of people here understand what I mean exactly, but in any way, it was usefull for me
