I would like to suggest to put a search bar in the songs list so that in portrait view you can use the portrait virtual keyboard instead of sliding up to find a song. Thanks for the great work!!

i would like to request, if you dont mind and like my idea...

1. 3d surround presets (eg: concert, underwater, pipe, bathroom etc),
2. stereo widening,
3. pitch +/- (this one is available in symphonie),
4. cross fading,
5. function to select multiple files to add into a playlist or new playlist

thanks if anyone consider this useful..

media player is only front end for gstreamer, it's not responsible for playing music and videos, only for "driving" mafw (this process is responsible for playing)

Update time!
  • Cleaned up the code for translations. Added a Polish translation.
  • Support for UPnP. It still requires some work and it's not well tested, so bug reports are especially welcome.
  • Categories view for videos.
  • Reworked list drawng. It might be somewhat faster and certain themes don't suffer from ugly backgrounds.
  • Fixed missing context menu entries in "All songs" view.
  • Tweaked the playlist saving dialog.
  • Fixed a segfault and some minor bugs here and there.

I'm not sure if it's the right moment to start adding translations, because they can break or become incomplete during further development, but hopefully there will always be someone to fix them.

If you want to provide a translation, go to http://gitorious.org/~gidzzz/qt-medi...es/master/lang and select "openmediaplayer.ts" to get the translatoin template. If you want to see how a translated file looks like, look at the other files (well, only "Polish.ts" at the moment).

To avoid multiple people doing the same thing, you can make a post in this thred to let everyone else know that someone is already working on a certain language.

If I remember correctly, the following people have already shown an interest in translations:
  • Zentenario: Spanish (but there's already partial translation by CepiPerez)
  • robin92: Swedish

When you're finished, either attach the .ts file in this thread, send me a PM, or request a merge on Gitorious. The filename should be in "Language.ts" format. To make sure what "Language" should be, run OMP from the terminal (type "openmediaplayer") and look for something like 'Your language is "English"'.

Edit:

I changed the translation file to allow multiple plural forms, so if something like that exists in your language, check the table on http://doc.qt.nokia.com/qq/qq19-plurals.html for details on which form is which and put them in that order, one per <numerusform></numerusform> tag.

Also, the filenames aren't something like "English.ts" anymore, now "openmediaplayer.en.ts" or "openmediaplayer.en_US.ts" is preferable. But I guess the filename doesn't matter that much anyway.

Good to see the development at this pace.

Now you have an installable deb file, why not put it in the extra testing repository? Makes updating a lot easier for us all.

I didn't have time nor that special feeling to learn how the package infrastructure works here. Hovewer, it still might take a long time to reach the CSSU quality, so I guess a deb in extras-devel could be the next step.

@gidzz: is a double-tap on playlist in now playing window, for play on purpose or a bug maybe???
yet another thing: when on playlist view in now playing, pressing a rewind or forward button doesn't focus on seek bar (default MP does)
