I agree! I created THIS thread because of N9(50)/Ion. I am not interested about WP7/Maemo/Meego/Symbian whatever debate.

Please move to different forums or threads to bash each other. Let's discuss about forthcoming MAEMO-related products not offtopic issues.

We were discussing about WP7 as some here believed/joked that Elop will not announce the N9 and will only talk more about WP7 phones that Nokia will make. Also, this topic title is not about meego. It's about a Harmattan device that we are calling as N9 as we have no clue what it would be called or how good it will be. Too many unknowns, clouded by too many jokers, stirred by people who have been told top secret information by Chuck Norris himself and trying to reach the 5000 mark just to make it truly worthy of it being EPIC.

Mango update will also add IE9 Mobile to WP7. IE9 Mobile will be fast, but not very mobile No mobile (touch or orientation) events at all, no CSS transitions. Why is it called Mobile is beyond me.

Trying to reach 8888 mark so that a nice N9 can born, 8888 is a lucky number.... I have been enjoying this thread as it is speculative, informative and reinforces the fact if there is hope things will happen but bit disappointed that WP7/mango are being mentioned, not worth it until witnessed. Long live Memo and long live open OS.

We keep saying that, but since when is transparency wrong? I'd rather the CEO is clear about the future direction than that he practically lies to us for the sake of shares and short-term profits. Fortunately Nokia is strong enough not to rely on such tactics.

So far I consider Elop a straight talker, and I respect that. Hopefully I won't have to eat my words on that.

the problem is that elop want kill meego for sell more wp7. yes you say that microsoft is a big company and intel what is?
nokia had qt framework both for symbian and maemo/meego, announcing the death of symbian and that rm680@will be the last meego phone and so nothing support we that wait this phone from 1 year what can we do?
i hate elop because dont support qt framework and meego, because i want a meego nokia phone!
