Obviously Nokia knows that very well - no matter what has and hasn't been done in Maemo.

Like with the Fremantle Killer Apps, the exercise is as useful to Nokia as to the own community and 3rd party developers in seeing what are the great ideas and points of most interest. And the names abl to move them forward. Think visionary. Think Harmattan. Squeeze your brains showing that you are getting it so right.
I would point specifically to certain aspects of the calendar and other apps on the Nokia 7710. In addition to the ts, the apps also use the switch view and other HW keys well. Instant access and correct view/presentation of info is essential to a good PIM. It was visionary (but bogged down by the silicon) and you could get it so right on the next NIT. It should run with no hesitation on Cortex though.

You mentioned names to move it forward. I can give you the names of the guys who worked on that, it was series 90 though.

Yesterday I had this too, I tried HTTP over SSL, and it worked. But that is not always the case, and I certainly agree that a non-working maemo.org is not good marketing for this platform.

And, when I use wget on garage I get an error about the SSL certificate.

So SSL has its quirks...

I know this topic is pretty dead but if Nokia or independent developers are currently working on an organizer/PIM application I recommend taking a look here because they designed a finger friendly interface, and share their interface design.
