No indication when Belle will be available as an update to Symbian Anna (half the world is still waiting for that one!), but nice to know that Nokia haven't given up on their own OS just yet.
Seems like it won't take that long:

On the other hand you never know

A real Android competitor (still not enough against iOS).

That dude is playing Isaac Hayes "That Loving Feeling" in the background?

Thumbs up for THAT alone.

Oh... and Belle looks rather decent. And from me, that's saying a lot since I've vowed to never use Symbian unless I truly had to.

And that's what Nokia is walking away from? Makes no sense.

Agreed. I can't see how Nokia wouldn't be doing well in the mid-range with the new Symbian Belle, and well in the upper-range with Meego (or Harmattan as it is at the mo). But it looks like they're not walking away just yet, with a promise of more S^Belle phones next year and more updates, Symbian will be around for a while longer than most expected.
The 'oh what a damn shame' part comes with moving to WP7.5 instead of sticking it out with Maemo/Meego for those super-smartphones.

Makes you wonder if Elop is like Michael Scott in that Nokia office...

Ahhhhhhhh, my hopes and dreams have just gotten fulfilled
They might get that feature out before Apple.

I have been quite pleased with what i have seen Belle running on these new devices.
Too bad non of the devices got AF(bad Nokia!), but still might consider 700 or 701 next to my N9.
