Yahoo? MSN/Bing? Altavista (do they still exist?)? Ask?
For email:
Hotmail/MSN, Yahoo, GMX, hushmail, fastmail, etc
or better yet, look here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...mail_providers
and here for search engines:

Would using an anonymizer or proxy get around linking data to you for things like Google search?

Out of curiosity, what Google alternatives do some of you use? Regarding any service you might think of? (Particularly e-mail and search
And do you know that these other companies are not also sharing your information?

You missed the point here: Each and every web server you visit (even if it only delivers static pages) may collect and share data that somehow relates to you.
The point itsn't to find services that cannot - for whatever technical reason - make use of your data.
The point is to spread your data across as many service providers as possible. Each of them may know a bit about you, but you shouldn't make it too easy for one (Google) to know everything.

So what exactly do they do with this "data" to make them money? Just advertising? It's not like they are taking my credit card numbers and online bank account numbers to steal money from me. If they have a bit of info on me to give me free services like Google Voice and Gmail, I guess I don't really mind (mostly because I just have no clue what info they get and what exactly they do with it).
Is it possible that the "data" that they collect can do harm to us in anyway?
