could not agree more

I know Maemo is a new OS but nokia is working hard with Intel to create Meego. Meego has way more invested interest for nokias future then maemo does. We will be left behind to port Meego and Flash 10 over ourselves. Yyayayayayayayayya happy times ahead

I wonder when Fring will come out to extras???? Its been coming soon for about 5 months things have really slowwweddd down from the initial hype of the n900. I’m obviously not referring to the open source community which is thriving.

Where on our own. Lost. But not hopeless lets hack the **** out of this device and maybe one day………we could make it transform like on the N900 adds

the n8 is really growing on me the more and more i read about it.

that being said, i'll wait for the first meego device, then i'll make my choice with first meego or n8.

I'm getting a N8,
i'll be getting a harmattan device

@lcuk you can find all symbian source code and packages in below link, getting that running on n900 would be a lot of HARD work

I'll wait for MeeGo Device 1.10 Version For now N900 is the only Nokia device I would pay for until I can save up for more.

Your not wrong there lol porting symbian to linux is not an easy task in any way but its a shame the linux os for the n900 is not structured properly because its wide open to damage caused by the apps developed changing its structure instead of working outside of it leaving the basic os intact and unchanged.
I think the N8 is a blessing for us after we have put up with very little support on the 900 for so long now so i think its inevitable people are going to go elsewhere now.
Am afraid to say my opinion of the n900 is a dismal one as its destined to failure simply because of the usb problems and that's before we talk about Meego lol.... oh well.

Hmm i wonder how people would think if indeed a symbian os was completely programmable for the n900 getting rid of linux altogether?... food for thought i bet lol.

Right now the 900 stinks and will do for some time to come untill Nokia get the development finalized, so for me i will have them both.
Less speculation and more facts man.

No speculation needed here because sadly to say the proof is already there as in the amount of decent working apps currently available and the mere fact that Nokia are progressing to Meego should tell you enough, also the amount of problems created simply by installing apps to the n900 is enormous if you care to take a good look on here.
The N8 will function i would say 90% good from the off unlike the 900 lol.
Facts pure facts.
