NuevaSync merges all google calendars to the local N900 calendar. I don't know if there is a chance to sync to multiple calendars. It is very reliable so at the moment I think this is the best what we have...
Zaheerm: how's the status of the implementation of your google sync tool?

Possibly, if the phone itself supports multiple calendars. At present the only device we know with multical support is the iPhone.
The service merges calendars for all other devices, including at this point the N900.
We can add a special mode where we can de-merge the calendars for your account. Then you can test and we'll find out if it works.
There are other devices that have native multical support, but still don't do it for Exchange sync (e.g. the Palm Pre). It would be
nice if the N900 isn't like this.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned NuevaSync as a tool to sync the N900 with Google calendar/contacts.
I have been using it to sync several devices with Google for quite some time now. And since last saturday I also use it on the N900. Works like a charm
Just thought I'd mention it.

I now tested the NuevaSync. Ends up by N900 saying Exchange Server error and creates duplicates of all of my events. NuevaSync's status in their website says sync went OK.
Not good.

I have a command line app that works for one way sync from gcal to maemo. I am in my spare time getting a basic ui together for people to test it.
Here is a pic of 26 calendars synced from gcal to my device:
