Not true. In fact, one of the best ways to prolong the life of lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries is to keep them fully charged and not drain them much. Anytime it's available, mine is plugged in and charging, even off of my laptop when I'm at work, and I've seen no ill effects of doing this.
