OK, I figured out how to setup samba shares - you have to know:
- share IP. I gave static IPs to my NAS'
- Remote Directory name - basically, your shared folder on Windows machine or share name on NAS.
- Username/Password - for my NAS (some kind of debian) I was able to set up a linux user and use its username/password as credentials here. For XP shares any enabled user account for the XP box will work. I have a user with no password and it works fine.

The only thing I cannot resolve is those Shared Folders that should appear in a File Manager by default. Curiously enough, I have them appeared in my office with network domains and elevated security, but not for my WORKGROUP at home.

One thing. If your packet manager wants you to update the wizard mounter package.

Don't let him do that. Umount everything manually first

I've lost ~200 GB of data. It seems, the WizardMounter updater rm's the folder with the mounts without umouting first. Just doublechecked that with a test mount and it deleted all the files that it could. Kinda sucks, doesn't it ?

I'm using Diablo n800, Wizard Mounter 1.1

Installing this thing does nothing. After installing, there's no menu entry to run it. How lame. Do you have to hunt through the file system for clues on how to actually load it?

Damn
Why I did not read your post first?
~200g disappeared magically yesterday when I updated to 1.4 version. But thinking positively - at least it was not a hacker broke through my firewall.
Honestly I think this version should be removed away from public access until this bug is fixed.

I'm still seeing Wizard Mounter 1.1 when I open the app after upgrading to Wizard Mounter 1.4. Are you guys seeing 1.1 or 1.4 after installing 1.4?

I do not see it at all Wizard-mounter drops .desktop and .service files in a tablet root and I cannot figure out where they should be copied. The only way I can run it now is from xterm.

I believe I had your problem at one point and someone posted a fix for it on this forum. Try searching for it, it could even be in this thread. I still see v1.1 after upgrading to 1.4. The key difference seems to be... smb mounts actually work now. I'm amazed. I never thought I'd see the day. This is very handy app.

Is there an update to this for Fremantle/N900 somewhere? I would really like to be able to easily mount windows file shares rather than go the rsync route.
