Hi Graham:

I have recenty bought a N800 and have a month to try it out.
I am very interested in syncing GPE (which I already installed) with a Nokia 6230 phone.
I found this info on your page, http://www.cobb.uk.net/NokiaIT/index.html, which explains how to do this,
but since I am new to Linux I need extra help.
Could you explain how to use the referred files on the N800.

Thanx in advance
Antonio

hmm, interesting. im starting to think its time i read up on coding guis in python as the only real thing missing here is the ui to configure the modules.

oh, and getting the irmc opensync module ported as well would be nice, as my sonyerricson phone needs it to sync the calendar.

The bad news is that this is not currently possible. The previous version of Opensync did work for me but I have not tried to build that old version of Opensync for the chinook (OS2008) release.

I have built the current development version of opensync for chinook but currently bluetooth sync does not work. I am working on understanding why not at the moment.

I'm not confident I will have it sorted in the next month! If you are interested in hearing about my progress I suggest watching the opensync-devel mailing list, where I am asking questions!

Definitely a fantastic set of apps. I also managed to sync with my google calendar via erminig without any fuss.

One issue I do have is that my to-do list is not showing up in GPEsummary. Should my to-do's be in a certain format? Should I have installed the apps in a certain order? Or might there be something else going on?

Never mind, I figured it out. It looks like it only shows tasks if there is a due date attached to them, and then only on the date due. Makes sense now...

I have gpe-calendar 2.8+maemo+svn20080114-1 and I am having problems with some re-occurring events.

I tried to setup an event starting today 3/17 for 7 pm and running on every 3rd monday with no end data.

First I found the monthly re-occurrence items do not always show up, I sometimes have to select a different occurrence (such as weekly) and the go back to monthly to get them to show up.

I select every 3rd Monday but the future events show up on the 17th of each month, not the 3rd Monday.

Anybody else having this problem?

Could you please report this in the GPE bugzilla (http://bugs.linuxtogo.org/)?

I suspected that the recurrence stuff was not right, and I would like to improve it. But I didn't know of any specific problems.

I can't work on this at the moment (I am trying to get OpenSync to work at the moment) but it would be good to have the bug report for when I (or someone else) gets to look at it.

Will do, I am just in the process of registering with bugzilla so I can do that.

It is entered as bug 157.
