I'd think that if the problem was in the tablet software no site would perform well. It's more likely that the issue is the poor performing site. In general, site access on the tablet is slower than for a desktop or laptop. Gmail has a lot of data base processing to do and is slower than iGoogle for example. I've configured my Gmail to support IMAP and use the the tablets mail package for better performance. I can get instanious access to send mail with dbus command to connect to the compose portion of mail. The single line command is:

dbus-send --print-reply --type=method_call --dest=com.nokia.modest /com/nokia/modest com.nokia.modest.MailTo string:mailto:

That's quite a mouthfull so I put it in a shell script in /usr/bin

However, it works fine for a https:// website that i use to view my university email.

The only change I done recently was update my firmware so that it now uses Diablo.

It was connecting fine at uni through vpnc, where the connection is not as good as it is in my home. I believe this is still working for connecting to google, although i don't think chat was connecting, so i could be wrong.

I tried turning power saving off, on the chance that it was a connection problem. Now I think it might just be Diablo.

Any suggestions?
